Publication strategies of paper mills: a case-study from the Tanu.pro
paper mill/ brokerage company
The game “Find an issue” presents six cases of papers submitted by the Tanu.pro paper mill. Paper mills in general, and the paper mill Tanu.pro in particular, are associated with various types of scientific misconduct, including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and citations to problematic journals, etc. They also violate the peer review process.
Paper mills leave distinct traces on the papers they produce due to their mass production methods. These include specific email addresses, standardized naming of papers, and the use of similar templates across multiple papers, etc.
This game allows you to identify issues in the papers submitted by Tanu.pro.
Are you ready?
