This is a screenshot of the reference list from a paper. Do you notice anything suspicious or problematic?
Answer
One of the references is problematic. The title of the paper does not correspond to the title of the journal. Annals of the Romanian Society for Cell Biology is a hijacked journal that has published thousands of papers without peer review.
Citations to papers from hijacked journals are problematic because they legitimize unreviewed works, often containing scientific misconduct.
